How Prins handles your data

Prins is designed to be local-first. Photos you select or capture and the results you export are processed on your device. Presets and edit history are stored locally so you can revisit them later.

Data Prins uses to run the editor

Prins needs access to your chosen photos so it can display previews and create exports. It also needs your selected adjustment settings so it can render the result.

1
Your photo files (read from the device)
2
Your editing settings (brightness, contrast, exposure, white balance)
3
Your export results (saved to app storage and your photo library when available)

Local storage: presets and history

Prins stores the following items on your device:

  • Custom presets: preset name, thumbnails, and the editing settings you saved.
  • Edit history: a record of exports and the parameters used for each export.
  • Small app flags: such as whether the iOS ATT prompt was shown.

You can clear history and delete your custom presets inside the app interface. Deleting an entry removes its associated saved files when applicable.

Credits and in-app purchases

If you export, the app may use available credits. Credits can be increased via in-app purchases. Your credit balance is stored locally on your device.

iOS ATT prompt and your choice

On iOS, Prins requests App Tracking Transparency authorization at startup. The app remembers that the prompt has been handled so you do not see it repeatedly.

If you choose not to allow tracking, Prins still works for editing and exporting photos.

How we protect your experience

Prins is built to keep your creative workflow smooth and private:

  • Processing is done on-device for preview and export.
  • Presets and history are stored locally for quick access.
  • We avoid requesting extra permissions that are not needed for core features.
